Our Commitment to Safety.
At TMJ Contractors, the golden thread is more than a box to tick. It is our commitment to keeping people safe and keeping your project compliant, from first fix to handover and beyond. We combine 25 years of joinery expertise with digital record keeping that proves what was designed, what was installed, and how it meets the rules.
What is the golden thread?
The golden thread is the digital, living record of a building. It holds the right information to understand the asset, manage fire and structural risks, and show how work complies. It stays accurate, accessible, and up to date through design, construction, and occupation.
For Higher Risk Buildings, keeping a golden thread is a legal requirement. For every other project, it is simply good practice. Either way, our approach gives you evidence you can trust.

How TMJ delivers the golden thread
We align our site delivery with your Common Data Environment so the record is created as we work, not chased at the end.
What you get on every compliance led package

Our digital toolkit
We use FieldView by Viewpoint and project specific iPads to connect site teams, supervisors, and the commercial desk. This keeps quality and commercial control aligned with your systems and gives you transparent progress and evidence at all times.
Product traceability for fire doorsets and joinery
Fire resisting doorsets and associated ironmongery are safety critical. Our golden thread records include:

Competence and supervision
Safe outcomes depend on competent people. Our managers and supervisors hold recognised qualifications and we keep training and competency records inside the golden thread. This includes inductions, toolbox talks, method statement briefings, and any specialist training relevant to the package.
Change management
If conditions on site require a change, we handle it visibly. We log the reason for the change, the technical impact, the approvals received, and the date. We record what was installed instead and attach updated drawings or data sheets so the record always matches reality.

Handover and aftercare
At Practical Completion you receive a clean, digital pack that mirrors the structure used during delivery. Asset registers, settings, maintenance, and inspection intervals are linked to each item. If you need us post handover, we can help you keep the golden thread current through minor works, replacements, or refurbishments.
Data security and access
We follow sensible data protection practices and can host information in your CDE or supply it securely in open formats. Access is controlled by role, and audit trails show who added what and when.

Typical inclusions for joinery packages
Each item is traceable to approved design, product data, and installation evidence.
